Graduate - VAT role

Our client is a well respected firm of Accountants who have a fantastic opportunity for a Graduate seeking a career in accountancy.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Over a three-year apprenticeship you will work towards completing the globally recognised Chartered Accountancy or Chartered Tax Advisor qualification. We cover the costs of all your accountancy courses and examinations (first time attempts). You also get paid classroom study, study leave and exam leave. Alongside study you will get hands on practical experience from day one.
This is a hands-on role, which represents a fantastic opportunity for someone seeking to obtain professional qualifications whilst being an integral part of a growing team.
Working closely with the existing VAT team, you can expect to get involved in everything below:
• Preparing VAT returns
• Preparing EC Sales Lists and Intrastats
• VAT registrations
• Helping with HMRC enquiries
• Dealing with queries from clients
We are a full-service accountancy practice and so there is scope to become involved in:
• Preparing statutory accounts
• Working on tax reporting, compliance and advisory services for personal tax, corporation tax and the Construction Industry Scheme
ABOUT YOU
Qualifications
• A 2:1 degree or above
• GCSE Maths, grade B or above
• GCSE English Language, grade B or above
• A minimum of 300 UCAS points (old UCAS tariff) or 120 UCAS points (new UCAS tariff) or equivalents, from your top three grades (first attempts only). AS levels and General Studies are not accepted

WORKING HOURS
The working hours are 37.5 hours (pro-rated) per week, excluding meal breaks. Family friendly working hours, which are flexible across the week, are offered. ANNUAL LEAVE
For students 20 days per year + 8 Statutory Holidays + Study Paid + Study Leave.
36 days per annum, including Statutory Holidays once qualified.
